In October 2017 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Teutoburger Wald (Teutoburg Forest) by Anselm Kiefer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 230,750.00 (€ 263,100.17), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anselm Kiefer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Für Velimir Khlebnikov: Die Lehre vom Krieg: Seeschlachten in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 2,389,000.00 (€ 2,867,579.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Teutoburger Wald (Teutoburg Forest) von Anselm Kiefer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 230.750,00 (€ 263.100,17) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anselm Kiefer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Für Velimir Khlebnikov: Die Lehre vom Krieg: Seeschlachten im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.389.000,00 (€ 2.867.579,59).
