Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Claes Oldenburg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2015. In the Prints & Multiples: First Impression auction, the work Broken Button sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 6,007.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Claes Oldenburg erzielte im April 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples: First Impression wurde die Arbeit Broken Button für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 6.007,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
