Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of USD 1,152.00 (€ 1,062.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).

Die Arbeit Centennial Print, Judson Memorial Church von Claes Oldenburg wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.152,00 (€ 1.062,83) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00.
