Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Cy Twombly was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,600.00 (€ 73,234.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cy Twombly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (New York City) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 70,530,000.00 (€ 66,777,125.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Cy Twombly kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 73.234,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cy Twombly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (New York City) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.530.000,00 (€ 66.777.125,54).
