Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Pleading for the Child, from Grimm's Fairy Tales by David Hockney was sold in the Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash auction at Bonhams in New York in August this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,560.00 (€ 2,361.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
