Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Christies in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Der Maler (Selbstbildnis) by Emil Nolde. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,692.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emil Nolde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Herbstmeer XVI in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,344,500.00 (€ 6,305,915.69).
