Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autumn by Engelbert Lap was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 537.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Engelbert Lap - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wooden Cottages in the Snow, which sold at auction in June 2006 for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,389.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autumn von Engelbert Lap im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 537,87) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Engelbert Lap mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wooden Cottages in the Snow beobachtet, die im Juni 2006 für GBP 960,00 (€ 1.389,10) versteigert wurde.
