Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Mexico City Triptych by Francis Alÿs. Here, the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 226,800.00 (€ 200,939.13). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Alÿs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study For The Last Clown, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
