Etching and aqutint in colors on Arches paper, signed in ink, dated and numbered 159/220 (the total edition was 238, with 2 color variants, with 18 proofs in Roman numerals), with the blindstamp of the publisher Gruener Janura AG, Glarus, Switzerland, and with the blindstamp of the printer Robert Finger, Vienna, with full margins.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash, which included the work The Occidental by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The price achieved of USD 2,304.00 (€ 2,125.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Friedensreich Hundertwasser achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ville Vue D’Au-Delà Du Soleil in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 523,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Occidental von Friedensreich Hundertwasser zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.304,00 (€ 2.125,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Friedensreich Hundertwasser erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ville Vue D’Au-Delà Du Soleil im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 523.500,00.
