Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Die Witwe II (The Widow II), from Krieg by Käthe Kollwitz was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,762.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Käthe Kollwitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Abschied“. in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 437,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Die Witwe II (The Widow II), from Krieg von Käthe Kollwitz wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.762,11) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Käthe Kollwitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Abschied“. im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 437.500,00.
