This artwork by Pierre-Auguste Renoir achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in August this year. In the Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash auction, the work Baigneuse assise (Seated Bather) sold for USD 2,560.00 (€ 2,361.84) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet in May last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 22,770,478.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pierre-Auguste Renoir erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash wurde die Arbeit Baigneuse assise (Seated Bather) für USD 2.560,00 (€ 2.361,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Auguste Renoir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 22.770.478,05).
