Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rashid Johnson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Running Man sold for USD 176,400.00 (€ 170,880.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine" in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rashid Johnson erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Running Man für USD 176.400,00 (€ 170.880,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94).
