Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Big Study for Long Delayed Nude by Tom Wesselmann. The price achieved of GBP 536,750.00 (€ 612,000.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Study for Long Delayed Nude von Tom Wesselmann zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 536.750,00 (€ 612.000,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Wesselmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Great American Nude No. 48 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.681.000,00 (€ 6.864.395,89).
