In the Old Master, Decorative, Modern & Contemporary Prints auction, the work A Collection sold for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,548.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Valerie Thornton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The church entrance sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,284.04).
