Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Amoako Boafo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Follow Monica sold for USD 441,000 (€ 390,715) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amoako Boafo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orange Shirt in March this year with an auction result of CNY 8,760,000 (€ 7,656,004).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amoako Boafo erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Follow Monica für USD 441.000 (€ 390.715) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orange Shirt im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 8.760.000 (€ 7.656.004).
