Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dollar Sign by Andy Warhol was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 516,600.00 (€ 481,409.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
