Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Electric Chair by Andy Warhol was worth GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,638.32) to a buyer in January 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Evening & Day Editions at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
