In January 2024 Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Untitled (Rose) (S. 27, T. & G. 28) by Bridget Riley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,970.00 (€ 23,381.01), 75% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bridget Riley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Diagonal Curve) in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 4,338,500.00 (€ 5,207,615.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2024 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Rose) (S. 27, T. & G. 28) von Bridget Riley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.970,00 (€ 23.381,01) und damit 75% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bridget Riley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Diagonal Curve) im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.338.500,00 (€ 5.207.615,75).
