Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Proposed Colossal Monument for Battersea Park, London, Drum Set, 1966 by Claes Oldenburg was sold in the Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash auction at Bonhams in New York in August this year. The price achieved of USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,771.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Proposed Colossal Monument for Battersea Park, London, Drum Set, 1966 von Claes Oldenburg wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.771,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden.
