Upper estimate price exceeded by 27 %.
In January 2024 Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work The Hours Spin Skull by Damien Hirst. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,445.00 (€ 7,439.41), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damien Hirst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lullaby Spring in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).
