Auction result misses estimated price range
In August last year a collector was able to acquire the work Hockney's Alphabet (26 works) by David Hockney for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,900.15). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples Summer Splash at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
