Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty eleven) - 25 February by David Hockney was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 113,400.00 (€ 106,438.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 90,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
