This artwork by Ed Ruscha achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Pussy sold for USD 441,000.00 (€ 413,929.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ed Ruscha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hurting the Word Radio #2 in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,485,000.00 (€ 47,631,364.01).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ed Ruscha erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Pussy für USD 441.000,00 (€ 413.929,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 250.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ed Ruscha erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hurting the Word Radio #2 im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.485.000,00 (€ 47.631.364,01).
