The »bidding war« ended at USD 189,000.00 (€ 177,398.16), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).

Die Arbeit Vallelunga von Frank Stella wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 177.398,16) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Point Of Pines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.082.500,00 (€ 25.188.357,70).
