Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work No Room (Gold) #47 by Glenn Ligon was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Ligon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (I Was Somebody) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,973,000.00 (€ 3,194,243.45).
