Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Guadalupe by Helen Frankenthaler. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,655.00 (€ 33,466.30), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Frankenthaler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Fireworks in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Guadalupe von Helen Frankenthaler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.655,00 (€ 33.466,30) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Fireworks im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19).
