It achieved a price of USD 10,880.00 (€ 10,295.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Matisse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Odalisque couchée aux magnolias in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 80,750,000.00 (€ 69,194,515.85).

Die Arbeit La Belle Tahitienne von Henri Matisse wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 10.880,00 (€ 10.295,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Matisse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Odalisque couchée aux magnolias im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.750.000,00 (€ 69.194.515,85).
