This artwork by Julian Opie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January this year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Bijou Gets Undressed. 1 (C. 50) sold for GBP 11,340.00 (€ 12,871.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Opie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walking in London in the rain in June last year with an auction result of CHF 189,000.00 (€ 189,036.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julian Opie erzielte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit Bijou Gets Undressed. 1 (C. 50) für GBP 11.340,00 (€ 12.871,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Opie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Walking in London in the rain im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 189.000,00 (€ 189.036,11).
