This artwork by Katherine Bernhardt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January this year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work I Know My Rights sold for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,290.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katherine Bernhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Katherine Bernhardt erzielte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit I Know My Rights für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.290,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katherine Bernhardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
