Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work KAWS Accomplice by Kaws. The price achieved of USD 107,100.00 (€ 94,887.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kaws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit KAWS Accomplice von Kaws zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 94.887,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kaws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
