Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lawrence Weiner could be acquired at Christies in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work stars don't stand still in the sky for anybody changed hands for USD 900.00 (€ 811.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Weiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lawrence Weiner konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wechselte die Arbeit stars don't stand still in the sky for anybody für USD 900,00 (€ 811,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Weiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
