Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Lee Bontecou for USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,059.19). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Bontecou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May this year with an auction result of USD 8,690,000.00 (€ 8,156,560.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2012 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lee Bontecou für USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.059,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Bontecou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.690.000,00 (€ 8.156.560,92).
