Sold at the upper estimate price
In February 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work D Train by Richard Estes. The auction ended at the price of USD 30,000.00 (€ 24,568.01), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Estes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gifts of Nature in March this year with an auction result of USD 1,284,000.00 (€ 1,181,015.45).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit D Train von Richard Estes zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 24.568,01) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Estes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gifts of Nature im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.284.000,00 (€ 1.181.015,45).
