Etching and aquatint in colors on German Etching paper, initialed in ink and numbered 11/52 (there were also 10 artist's proofs in Roman numerals), published by the artist, with the artist's blindstamp, released by Petersburg Press, London and New York, with full margins, framed.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Black Gesture on Copper Ground by Robert Motherwell was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,991.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Black Gesture on Copper Ground von Robert Motherwell kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.991,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit At Five in the Afternoon im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.690.000,00 (€ 10.874.035,99).
