Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hollow Man's Cave by Robert Motherwell was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,983.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,500.00 – 6,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hollow Man's Cave von Robert Motherwell kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.375,00 (€ 5.983,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.500,00 – 6.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit At Five in the Afternoon im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.690.000,00 (€ 10.874.035,99).
