Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Mask (for Ingmar Bergman) by Robert Motherwell. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,573.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mask (for Ingmar Bergman) von Robert Motherwell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.573,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit At Five in the Afternoon im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.690.000,00 (€ 10.874.035,99).
