Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,180.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).

Die Arbeit Guild Hall East Hampton von Roy Lichtenstein wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.280,00 (€ 1.180,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen.
