Upper estimate price exceeded by 33 %.
In July 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Les Caprices de Goya de Dali (Dali's 'Caprichos' by Goya): 10 plates by Salvador Dalí. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,000.00 (€ 33,973.16), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvador Dalí achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Paul Éluard in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 13,481,250.00 (€ 15,879,784.58).
