This artwork by Shara Hughes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Weeping Blur sold for USD 1,134,000.00 (€ 1,056,751.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shara Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spins from Swiss, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 2,940,000.00 (€ 2,739,726.03).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Shara Hughes erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Weeping Blur für USD 1.134.000,00 (€ 1.056.751,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shara Hughes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spins from Swiss beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 2.940.000,00 (€ 2.739.726,03) versteigert wurde.
