Upper estimate price exceeded by 79 %.
This artwork by Howard Hodgkin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in June this year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Red Print sold for GBP 3,584.00 (€ 4,171.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Hodgkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Goodbye to the Bay of Naples in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 1,688,750.00 (€ 1,925,505.56).
