Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Claire Nude by Tom Wesselmann was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. It achieved a price of USD 8,320.00 (€ 7,872.82), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Claire Nude von Tom Wesselmann wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.320,00 (€ 7.872,82) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Wesselmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Great American Nude No. 48 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.681.000,00 (€ 6.864.395,89).
