Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Composition with Pyramids, Circles and Clouds by Alexander Calder. The price achieved of USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,633.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Calder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poisson volant (Flying Fish) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 25,925,000.00 (€ 19,006,598.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition with Pyramids, Circles and Clouds von Alexander Calder zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.633,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Calder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poisson volant (Flying Fish) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.925.000,00 (€ 19.006.598,24).
