Upper estimate price exceeded by 55 %.
The work Electric Chairs by Andy Warhol was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 466,200.00 (€ 434,442.27), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
