Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Benton Murdoch Spruance could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Prints auction, the work Blue Bell Hill (Fine and Looney 69) changed hands for USD 1,434.00 (€ 1,167.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benton Murdoch Spruance achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The People Work - Morning, Noon, Evening, Night in August this year with an auction result of USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,549.13).
