Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Brice Marden was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,355.00 (€ 5,473.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brice Marden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 11 (to Léger) in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 16,999,000.00 (€ 15,060,689.29).
