Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cecily Brown could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,612.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecily Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cecily Brown konnte im November 2021 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.612,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cecily Brown erzielen.
