Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Being Photographed: Looking Out, Looking In by Chris Burden. It changed hands for a price of USD 59,375.00 (€ 43,530.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Burden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warship in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 502,000.00 (€ 450,830.71).
