Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Self-Portrait by Chuck Close was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2016. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 75,000.00 (€ 65,553.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chuck Close achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gwynne in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 2,807,500.00 (€ 2,298,027.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Chuck Close kam im April 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 75.000,00 (€ 65.553,71) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chuck Close erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gwynne im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.807.500,00 (€ 2.298.027,34).
