Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Prints, which included the work Miniature Soft Drum Set (Axsom & Platzker 61) by Claes Oldenburg. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,623.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Miniature Soft Drum Set (Axsom & Platzker 61) von Claes Oldenburg zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.750,00 (€ 5.623,39) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
