Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Profiterole by Claes Oldenburg was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,300.00 (€ 14,360.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Profiterole von Claes Oldenburg kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.300,00 (€ 14.360,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
